It holds up well to smaller hail — the foam and its elastomeric coating are flexible and absorb impact rather than cracking like some brittle materials. No roof is truly hail-proof, though; a severe storm can still bruise the coating. The upside is the coating is renewable, so dings can be cleaned up and recoated instead of replacing the whole roof.
